Dawn Grimes-MacLellan is Assistant Professor of Japanese Studies at Earlham College.  She is author of “‘Kids These Days…': Globalization and the Shifting Discourse of Childhood in Japan” in Japan in the Age of Globalization edited by Carin Holroyd and Ken Coates, and “Three years in three days:  School excursions as a microcosm of Japanese junior high school,” in Why Japan Matters! edited by Joseph F.
