John Junkerman
John Junkerman is a documentary filmmaker and Asia-Pacific Journal contributing editor based in Tokyo. His new film, Okinawa: The Afterburn, is the first comprehensive film of the Battle of Okinawa and the island’s postwar. It won the Mainichi Film Prize for best documentary and was named #1 on Kinema Jumpo’s Best Ten. The English-language version of the film is now available from First Run Features here.
